The Cloud 9 Party Color Palette
Keep the palette soft and dreamy, then use metallic accents to keep the party from feeling too babyish.
Use:
☁️ Cloud white
🩷 Ballet pink
🩵 Powder blue
💛 Soft butter yellow
✨ Metallic gold
🪩 Silver + iridescent accents
The mix of fluffy textures and reflective metallics is what makes this cloud birthday party theme feel extra special.
White balloons and cloud décor create the soft base, while pink and blue add color. Then sprinkle in gold stars, disco balls and iridescent fringe to make everything sparkle.
Create a Show-Stopping Cloud 9 Backdrop
Every party needs one major visual moment.
For this Cloud 9 birthday party, we created a large green faux-hedge backdrop surrounded by white and pastel balloons.
Instead of a printed banner, use oversized metallic balloon letters spelling:
CLOUD
Then add a giant metallic 9 underneath.
Fluffy faux clouds along the bottom make the entire backdrop feel like it’s floating.
Gold stars, fairy lights and a few disco balls keep the setup playful and sparkly.
This is also the perfect location for birthday photos.
Create a Dreamy Cloud 9 Birthday Tablescape
The Cloud 9 birthday party tablescape is where all of the little details come together. I kept the table low and cozy so it still feels like part of the sleepover, then layered in cloud-shaped plates, cloud-shaped napkins, pink and baby-blue napkins, metallic gold cups and flatware, fluffy floor cushions, and soft cloud-inspired textures.
For the centerpiece, I love the idea of a fluffy white “cloud” runner running the entire length of the table, mixed with tiny gold stars, warm fairy lights, simple pink-and-white flowers, and a few mini disco balls for sparkle. The combination of pastel party table decor + metallic gold accents keeps this cloud birthday party theme sweet and dreamy without feeling too young.
This is also one of the easiest areas of the party to recreate with shoppable pieces. Start with the plates, cups and napkins, add gold flatware, then layer in a few cloud decorations and cozy pillows around the table. You don’t need every detail to match perfectly—the slightly mixed, collected look makes the whole girls birthday tablescape feel much more natural and fun.

Take the Cloud Theme All the Way to the Ceiling
This may be my favorite part of the entire party.
Instead of stopping the decorations at the walls, bring the Cloud 9 party theme overhead.
Layer:
The ceiling installation instantly makes an ordinary family room feel like an entirely different space.
And when the lights get lower during the sleepover?
Magic.
A Dreamy Cloud 9 Sleepover Setup
Now for the part the girls will really remember.
Create individual sleepover beds or floor mattresses with soft white bedding and layer them with:
Add simple teepees or flowing fabric canopies over a few beds.
Then weave warm fairy lights around the tents.
You don't need every bed to match perfectly.
Actually, the slightly mixed-and-layered look makes the entire girls sleepover birthday party feel much more cozy and realistic.
Some of my favorite Cloud 9 birthday party ideas are the interactive stations, because they double as both party entertainment and adorable decor.
Cloud 9 Charm Club
A great sleepover party needs activities girls actually want to do.
Our first station:
Cloud 9 Charm Club
“A Little Charm, A Lot of Happy.”
Set out pastel beads, pearl beads, gold beads, alphabet beads and tiny charms including:
Girls can make friendship bracelets, bag charms or zipper charms for their overnight bags.
Use shallow gold trays and small bowls to organize everything.
Then hang finished examples from a peg board display.
Head in the Clouds Slime Bar
For another hands-on activity, create a Cloud Fluff Slime Bar.
Use premade fluffy slime in:
Pink Daydream Blue Sky Swirl
Birthday Cloud
Then let the girls mix in slime-safe pastel sprinkles, foam beads, tiny stars and cloud-themed add-ins.
Clear take-home containers make this activity double as a party favor.
And because this is a Cloud 9 party, even the slime table gets balloons, gold stars and fluffy cloud details.
Sweet Dreams Sleep Mask Bar
This activity fits a Cloud 9 sleepover party perfectly.
Set out plain sleep masks in pink, baby blue, cream and pale yellow.
Girls can personalize them with fabric markers and soft appliqués.
A few sample ideas:
Dream Girl
On Cloud 9
Do Not DisturbDream Big
Keep the decorations comfortable enough that the girls can actually wear the masks later that night.
Pick Your Happy Little Cloud Cotton Candy Shop
If you're going to have a Cloud 9 party, cotton candy almost feels mandatory.
Our Cotton Candy Cloud Shop may be one of the cutest parts of the entire setup.
Use a small cart with a canopy.
Then display fluffy cotton candy in:
🩷 pink
🩵 blue
🤍 white
Girls can decorate paper cone sleeves with cloud stickers, metallic stars and their names.
The finished cotton candy looks like little pastel clouds lined up across the cart.
Build-Your-Own Cloud 9 Ice Cream Sundae Bar
Move the party into the kitchen for dessert.
Turn the kitchen island into a huge Cloud 9 ice cream sundae bar with bowls of toppings, waffle cones and pastel ice cream.
Try flavors like:
Vanilla Dreams
Strawberry Skies
Birthday Cake Bliss
Then set out toppings:
mini marshmallows
sprinkles
cherries
crushed cookies
chocolate chips
pastel candies
whipped cream
caramel
chocolate sauce
Gold bowls and pastel serving pieces tie the station back into the party.
The Cloud 9 Birthday Cake
A soft pink and blue cake covered in little white clouds and gold stars immediately fits the theme.
Add:
tiny gold stars
piped pastel frosting
cloud details
a metallic number topper
candles
Place the cake on a pedestal surrounded by cupcakes or mini cakes.
Against all of the fluffy Cloud 9 décor, even a fairly simple cake looks incredible.
